Rod Adjustments to Ignore Hangers attached to Hangers

When I model a hanger that is attached to a trapeze, I use the Rod Adjustments and it errors out the command saying the rod will have to be disconnected from the hanger. Can this command ignore hangers that are already attached to other hangers?
