Annotation Options
When placing tags, the following features would help improve clarity, consistency, and efficiency:
* Ability to set a default leader landing distance (similar to AutoCAD's multileaders).
* Ability to draw the leader line at a specific angle (similar to drawing reference planes in Revit).

James SimpsonWould it be beneficial to also dictate tag placement angles?
As an example, instead of inputting an Up distance of 3 and a Right distance of 4, you would instead enter 45° with a offset of 5.
Your leader would also inherit this angle and point back to your original placement (middle center, top left, etc.)
You would then be able to further specify a landing distance when using a leader option.

James SimpsonI don't think that would be a bad idea James for when you want to run a "tag all" command. I was thinking more along the lines of individual tag placement using the "tag by category" command. We use "free end" a lot of times while tagging so we can draw the tag at the appropriate angle in order to avoid other tags or placing the tag on top of elements in the model. We also use it so we can control where the tag arrowhead is located if we don't want to use the middle of the element. This method requires 3 clicks of the mouse - one to select the element and locate the leader's arrowhead, another to drag the length of the leader and set the leader angle, and finally the length of the leader landing. I was requesting this behavior to be more like AutoCAD's multileaders where it only takes 2 clicks of the mouse to place a tag, the leader landing is always the same length, and you can use polar tracking to place the leader at a consistent angle.
