Point Loads

We often times need to provide point loads to the Structural Engineer of Record for the project so they can see what loads are being applied to their structure. This has been a laborious task in the past and is even worse in Revit because some of the scripts we were able to use in AutoCAD can no longer be used (to my knowledge). Since eVolve places hangers on the Mechanical systems and those hangers are associated with the system we need Revit to run a calculation on the run of duct or pipe and divide that total weight by the amount of hangers on the run. Then, place a family on top of the hanger point that states how much weight the hanger is holding. We normally divide the weight by 10 so the numbers are not so big and they fit within the symbol we are using. For Instance, if the hanger on a 32" Round duct was holding 100 lbs, we would show 10 inside the Symbol we are using. The Symbols should be able to be manipulated in the family so they match each trades specifications (Ductwork
