Create equal throat lengths on rectangular duct elbows, standalone and after optimizing fitting

After optimizing fitting, it would be nice to make the other throat of the elbow to be the same length. By having equal throat lengths helps during the install the elbow and eliminates any guesswork as to which way the elbow needs to be installed. Currently have to manual edit the throat length to make them equal.

Optimize fitting change both sides of elbows

When using optimize fittings it would be useful to have the ability to adjust both sides of elbows at the same time. Being able to set an upper limit would be ideal. Such as, if optimize fittings adds less than 12", then apply that extension to the other throat. This may need to be a shift modified tool because you wouldn't want to do it 100% of the time.

Typically when I have an elbow which eats up a short straight, I prefer to keep the throats the same length (provided it's not too long) to avoid having to annotate the throats or a mistake being made in the field. Currently I have to optimize one side, then edit the part and copy/paste the extension.

Accepting the fact that Autodesk intends to use RFA's we need a tool to place these stiffeners. Can Evolve develop a tool for placing these stiffeners? The interface would be very similar to the hanger placement tool. Rules could be created according to duct size and control stiffener selection and spacing.

I'd consider this for placing external reinforcements.

Right now, spool sheets are generated as standalone sheets in the browser. It would be great to have the sheet populate under assemblies and be associated with the spool directly. PypeServer has the ability to send spool sheets out with spools, but only if they are actual assembly sheets. Possibly it could stay as an option for those companies that do not want that functionality? This would be a huge time saver for those using PypeServer and a way for us to avoid having to print the sheets.

We need your input! How can we expand the Mechanical RFA library?

We are looking to greatly expand our Mechanical RFA content offerings and we want your input to ensure we prioritize accordingly.

We believe a base library of configurable, generic mechanical equipment, accessories and devices would provide extensive value, from packaged rooftop equipment to air terminal devices and everything in between. These families could include parametric sizing of key geometry, configurable duct and pipe connections, customizable clearance areas, optional accessories (hoods, roof curbs, etc.) and embedded metadata. We want to provide generic, configurable content with just the right amount of geometry and information, effectively putting the days of searching for that exact RFA file from a manufacturer behind us all.

Is this the right direction? What equipment do you want to see first? What functionality should be included?

We run most of our BOMs by filtering by the eV_LBS_Id location parameter. Often times we are asked to give a schedule only for shaft piping. It would be nice if we could add additional location boxes that write their location name to an additional parameter that is different than the default one. For example, we would have our normal location boxes laid out throught the job by area & level that write their name to eV_LBS_Id. Then we add shaft location boxes that run though each shaft that write their name to eV_LBS_Id2. Items in areas of overlapping boxes would have values for each of these parameters and we could filter/sort accordingly on our schedules.
